This is the first we've worked retrieve in the barn with big distractions. And for Sophie, in low distraction everything is a distraction.
You can barely hear my voice, but each time I do say collar high and snug, fold back, thumb in ear, fetch, give. And a couple times I said fetch more than once.
It's not the dog, it's the person. I've struggled all week. Sophie moves every time, so I can't get my thumb far enough in her ear to have control. I'm not sure if she moved toward the dumbbell or not.
GREAT Distractions. Not a pass. You NEED a training table. Breath Jeanne as you appear frazzled.
ReplyDeleteClearly, Sophie is playing you. No worries, everyone, EVERY NEW STUDENT struggles with this Week 3 Retrieve Ear Correction until they get it. EVERY NEW STUDENT.
Tomorrow is a new day.
